  • First name (This is only for our records. Other members and other people can not see this.)
  • Family name (This is only for our records. Other members and other people can not see this.)
  • Address (This is only for our records. Other members and other people can not see this.)
  • Preferred name (This is the name you can use when you communicate with other members)
  • WhatsApp phone number (Other members will be able to see this)
  • Email address (optional)

2. What Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect the following personal date:

  • Visa status
  • Certificates of study

3. Purpose of Collection

We collect this data to:

  • Communicate with you via WhatsApp about our activities.
  • Learn and share our English on WhatsApp.
  • Ensure all our members are women who are living in the UK.
  • If you share your email with us, we may also email you information about our activities.

4. How we gain your consent

Our legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent.

You give us your consent to collect and use your data when you sign up for our activities.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at therosecollective.uk@gmail.com.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely using encrypted / password-protected cloud storage.

We take appropriate measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties e.g. other organisations or companies.

We use WhatsApp which is an encrypted messaging service.

We do not share recordings of our sessions without your permission.

Please note that WhatsApp is a third-party service with its own privacy policy. While we use it for encrypted communication, your data may also be processed by WhatsApp according to their terms. This will always happen if you use WhatsApp.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary for communication purposes, or until you withdraw consent or our activities conclude.

You can leave the WhatsApp chats at any time. Your phone number may still be saved until the organisation’s activities are completed.

You can request deletion of your data and email address (if you have given it) at any time.

8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent
  • Object to processing
